i have a limit

like most people i have a limit to where you can push me before i snap and can't handle anymore.

the other day i hit that mark with a fellow PTA parent that has sparked me to decide that after this next meeting (if i make it that long) i will be quitting the PTA and telling them in the nicest way possible where they can shove it.

i misheard a rough number for our fundraiser and thought that we brought in almost 8,000 dollars, however i actually heard almost 7,000 dollars and got jumped because this person then accused me of saying that she stole the other 1,000 dollars. That's not at all what was said nor would I go to someone else if I thought that had happened, I would have gone to the authorities if that was the case. It's bull the way she spoke to me and started complaining about bi-laws and said she was tired of doing my job for me...

um no chick- i don't think so!

i agreed to go to the school 3 days a week to pick up money from parents for the PTA and the fundraiser so that no one else would, I helped organize and pull off the fall carnival, i organized and pulled off the fundraiser, i was the one at the school every other day, i was the one that pulled off the rock star party for the students and spent 2 hours passing out candy bars to students that sold fundraising product.

i spend countless hours cutting thousands upon thousands of boxtops so that we get a bigger check from the box tops for education people, and I'm the one that organizes and counts the ones that are turned in during a contest that i might be running that month- but she does my job?? what the heck!?!

so that will be one less stress for me in a couple of weeks, i will not let someone run over me and talk down to me the way she did.

This opens up my Tuesday evenings and hours that I would normally spend working on boxtops.

YAY for free time!!!!!

Rupp Arena was Rockin!

First let me start by saying that any chance I get to go to Rupp Arena I usually jump. Born and raised a University of Kentucky Wildcat fan, it's just a big deal to go there and see where all the that wonderful history has taken place. I love it there.

That being said, when it comes to music, I'm all about it even more. Concerts at Rupp are awesome! They never cease to impress me.

Now let's get down to the point, I have one absolute favorite singer, you may have heard of her... Taylor Swift! (aahh!!!!) lol. Sometimes  I feel like I am too told to be flippin out over a singer but then again, she's everything I wanted to be, a wonderful singer, a great style, and at some point in each of her songs I can relate to them all. She's got a genuine personality (from what i can tell in interviews and her twitter anyway). I have met her once, it was pretty cool, I wasn't as big of a fan at the time though, or it would have been a bigger deal.

But back on topic here, Rupp Arena the night of the concert was rockin!!

Britty & Me @ the show
The worst act was the "Need to Breathe" act that played just before Taylor came out, they were more of a hard rock band. How horrible of an opening act for a country singer? They were a mess and gave me a headache, I was thoroughly bored.

Prior to "Need to Breathe" there was another opening act that was awesome! David Nail, it was so cool! No one knew he was suppose to be there, but by no means were any of us upset about this surprise. It was simple, it was small, and it was great. I believe that an opening act for a country act doesn't have to be something huge and flashy, something simple and small worked well in this setting.

this is David Nail "Red Light"

On to the highlights of my night, the curtain closed and the set up began on Taylor's stage. Finally the lights darkened, the crowd was to their feet and the curtain arose, and there she was- it was GREAT! The music was pumping, the crowd was screaming and it was just a big adrenaline rush! After months of having these tickets sitting in my jewelry box it was finally time to have my big night out. The music started and I was ecstatic, honestly to the point that I did tear up a little bit at the beginning of the show, it was a stress relief to finally be there and actually not have to worry about anything- was a great relief!

Taylor was awesome! She was bubbly, upbeat, and connected. I love the way she draws the audience in and keeps them connected throughout the entire show. She's just got that personality. You can tell by watching her she really loves hearing the crowd go nuts and gets sincere pleasure out of that feeling that comes from them.  I also like that there is a "show" within the concert. Each song is acted out for the audience and that takes a lot of work to pull off every nigh.

She made my night when she sang "Never Grow Up," although it did make me cry, it is a beautiful song. What also made this special for me was that she doesn't sing this song at most of her concerts, only certain ones that her family is at. Her mother specially requested that she sing that song and she did, for her mother and father and brother that were there. I think it's beautiful, it reminds me of the Princess actually. I highly recommend that everyone listen to the song (i will post it below).

"Never Grow Up" by Taylor Swift

Sparks Fly was probably her most "electrifying" song, no pun intended. It was great seeing her jump around  and put her heart and soul into her music from the very first song. Also it proved that she was dedicated when you could hear her voice crack in  few places and then she admitted she has been sick, and didn't want to cancel another show. She's dedicated and hardworking.

All in all we had a great night- it was awesome and I haven't heard Rupp that loud before, ever...

I highly recommend that everyone check out her concert when she comes to a city near you!
