It's Official...

Princess is officially 6!

I have had the hardest time with this, I'm not quite sure why. Is it because that means that I have to admit I'm 25 now? Is it because I have to admit that I need to let her grow up? Or is it secretly because I still wish she was my baby? Does this mean that she won't be my baby girl forever? GASP I hope not! I will raise all kinds of hell at her wedding, I will bring embarrassing baby pictures to the hospital when she gives birth to her first, and I will be that momma standing at the front door when some little boy shows up to pick her up telling him "pull up your pants, that's not cute, tighten that belt and it had better stay that tight ALL night long- or you will get a free sex change!" Just sayin, I'm not afraid to use my big mouth to tell some kid off over my baby girl!

Anyways, so we had her party on Saturday the 10th. It went fairly well, though we didn't do everything I wanted to do. My nieces are lazy and didn't want to play or do really anything I had planned so therefore nothing really got done. On top of that my mother forgot some things she was suppose to bring to help me out. The "tower bean bag toss" I made didn't get played with AT ALL, go figure, I took time to make it, why would it get played with? My mother forgot the big piece of paper to have them "paint the walls" like Rapunzel does in the movie "Tangled" and even though I had paint for each kid, it didn't get used. Go figure- money wasted! On the bright side though... she had a great time and got lots of great gifts that she thoroughly loves!

Let me start with the basic decor, Party City loved me because that's where a lot of her stuff come from...

Square plates for the food, and the smaller round plates for the cake. Also that's a Tangled tablecloth that isn't pictured very well.

What's a Rapunzel birthday party without a Rapunzel Birthday Banner??

We laid out a "royal" feast for her guests. (the tray with just grapes- yeah that was all the birthday girl- that's how she wanted it!)

There ended up being honey butter and french bread here as well- it was a HUGE hit!

RECIPE TIME!
Honey Butter
1 1/2 cup softened butter
2/3 cup honey
Beat together and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving

THAT WAS SO FREAKIN SIMPLE!

This is the Princess's snow cone cup that my hubs & I worked SO hard on! They loved them to, the girls thought these were great!

THE CAKE! I LOVED HOW PRETTY IT WAS! A friend of mine made it- here's her website: Amber Morgan Cakes It was kinda rich, but I think that's most fondant cakes really. IT was awesome, the girls liked being able to pick between rice krispy treats or cake.

I just needed to share her fave gift from her Aunt Kat & Aunt Britty! She's so pretty!

Now one more thing, on her actual birthday (well the day before) the Family Resource Center woman from her school called and told me that a local business had made her a cake. This cake was made by Sweet Blessings and they make birthday cakes for children on their birthdays who meet a specific income requirement that the resource center feels is worthy of such a thing- so she signed her up and I went and picked up this...

I mean how adorable is that?!

She really liked this cake, it was FOUR layers thick!
LOOK! geez!

Anyways, now that I have bragged about my munchkin's party- I guess I should move on to the next topic at hand... another blog post... yesterday was September 11th, I posted my rememberance blog early for that one- so I will just redirect you to that post instead of posting another one about it (lol).

  2. Thank you! There are so many more pictures that I want to share, I just have to get them on the computer, like the hair I braided for over an hour and hung it around the room. It was neat. But thank you for stopping by and she loves the hat!
